Hello, I had a new prosthesis made by Tim Brakefield in September 2017. We first met Tim in his Appleton office in June and it was a pleasure to meet him. He said he would like to make a new prosthesis to improve it. We agreed and we met again in his Appleton office to begin the procedure and then a final visit to Madison for a day to complete it. It all went well and I am happy with Tim's work. Tim is so pleasant and caring to work with and I appreciate his talent.

I’m 73 years old and have had multiple prosthetic eyes fitted since I was 13. Tim at Global Prosthetics is from a multigenerational family of ocularists, and I enthusiastically recommend him. From a cosmetic point of view, he achieves excellent results. However, in my opinion, cosmetic results are not as important as the fitting of your prosthesis. You need to be unaware of its presence and have normal blinking action with no sensation of dryness, pressure or unintended movement.  Tim fitted my prosthesis perfectly.  But cosmetically, after going to Global Prosthetics “one can hardly tell you had an artificial eye”.  But who cares!  It took me about 50 years to realize that’s really not all that important.  I don’t want to live life trying to fool people about who I am.  (In fact I am thinking about getting a prosthesis with just the Green Bay Packers’ logo---I am a Packer fan with a green eye.)  I’m proud of what I’ve done in life, and maybe having one eye shaped my future for the better.  However, back to Tim, he is a very competent ocularist who will fit you with a comfortable prosthesis with great “eye appeal”. He’s also a nice guy. You will be satisfied.

Hello Tim and Tina, Hope you guys are well, and it was good to see you yesterday Tim!  Tim is very helpful and answers our questions with Jayden's prosthesis.  Jayden is 5 years old and a Retinoblastoma warrior who sometimes has anxiety with medical procedures and his special eye, but Tim is kind and patient with him.  My son actually likes going to get his eye polished!  Tim and his family came to an event we had in Madison for children with vision issues, so they like being involved in the community.  Jayden recently started to become more self-conscious with his glasses and eye.  Tim offered to make him a "super special eye" and he is very excited about it and I think it will empower him!  So far we are impressed with Tim's work.
